Orchestra

Orchestra in LISD offers students an enriched performing arts experience through instrumental Music Education, inclusive of individual and ensemble training on one of four string instruments (violin, viola, cello, string bass). Orchestra students may select an instrument and join the orchestra program at the outset of the sixth grade, with continued membership and instrumental development affording expanded musical opportunities throughout subsequent years in high school.

NOTE: Students onboard into LISD Orchestra programs in the sixth grade to receive specialized instrumental instruction. Subsequent engagement in the orchestra program includes all string instruments in full ensemble settings.
